Titanium Implant System

Our C-LOX Implants are suitable for small to giant breed dogs.

C-LOX implants are designed to replace damaged or degenerated cervical spinal discs in dogs while promoting fusion between adjacent vertebrae. The implants feature a dodecahedral open sponge titanium cage structure. This construct allows for the rapid growth of bone tissue throughout the implant, facilitating fusion with the surrounding vertebrae.

Why Dodecahedron?

Advantages of dodecahedral implant structure

Dodecahedron is a polyhedral shape that has 12 pentagonal faces. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in using dodecahedron shapes in orthopedic implants due to their unique properties, such as:

Enhanced Biocompatibility: Dodecahedron shapes provide increased surface area and improved cell attachment, which can enhance biocompatibility and promote better bone growth and osseointegration (the process of bone formation around an implant).
Increased Strength: The dodecahedron structure has a high volume-to-surface area ratio, which makes it more resistant to deformation and wear. This makes it ideal for orthopedic implants that require strength and durability.
Improved Osseointegration: The dodecahedron shape provides a larger surface area for bone growth, which can improve osseointegration and reduce implant failure rates.
Reduced Stress Shielding: The dodecahedron shape can reduce stress shielding by distributing stress more evenly, which can promote healthier bone growth and reduce the risk of implant failure.

The C-LOX Set contains cages of every size along with the corresponding templates or model cages, as well as the essential instruments. An upgrade set (delivered only with a tray insert) is also available to upgrade your existing previous version of C-LOX Set to the new version, or to simply complement your existing C-LOX Set tray or instrument tray.
