Course Information

This two-day, hands-on course provides advanced training in the surgical treatment of cranial cruciate ligament
rupture using TPLO, with a special focus on the simultaneous correction of medial patellar luxation.

Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of stifle anatomy and biomechanics, preoperative planning, and the use
of LeiLOX TPLO implants. Through practical exercises using sawbones and anatomical specimens, they will learn
how to perform a TPLO and simultaneously correct patellar luxation using the latest LeiLOX TPLO implants and polyaxial screws.

This course is designed for veterinarians with orthopedic experience who want to deepen their TPLO expertise
and expand their treatment options for complex cases.

Course Content:

  • Diagnosis and surgical treatment of cranial cruciate ligament rupture
  • TPLO technique and preoperative planning
  • TPLO in patients with simultaneous correction of medial patellar luxation
  • Digital planning and radiographic assessment
  • Dry and wet labs using sawbones and anatomical specimens
  • Postoperative care

Our LeiLOX TPLO systems are suitable for dogs of all breeds, as well as cats.

The multiaxial locking screws can be inserted at a 90° angle or angled up to 12° in any direction, helping to protect critical structures such as the osteotomy gap and articular surfaces. Two compression holes provide strong compression across the osteotomy and support bone healing. LeiLOX TPLO implants are anatomically contoured, made from medical-grade stainless steel, and manufactured to high quality standards. The new TPLO Swing implants are made from titanium, offering enhanced biocompatibility, reduced weight, and lower sensitivity to temperature changes.

The LeiLOX TPLO system also allows for the simultaneous correction of medial patellar luxation. Using a dedicated instrument, the proximal fragment is precisely shifted medially before final fixation, following the proven principle of the RAPID Luxation System.
