Rapid Luxation

Learn how to fix Patella Luxation  with the RAPID LUXATION System

Patella  Luxations can be challenging, especially using previous techniques. Luckily, we have developed a seamless, simple technique for addressing both patella luxations and cruciate ligament ruptures.

Dr. Hugo Schmökel shares with you all his knowledge about Patellar Luxations. The course is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. Any questions may be asked in the comments section of each chapter, which will then be received and responded to by Dr. Schmökel.

Dr. Schmökel is an experienced and globally recognized expert. Before his current position as Chief Veterinary Officer at Evidensia Strömsholm, Sweden's largest veterinary clinic, he worked at several large clinics and universities.

Dr. Schmökel has written numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters and regularly gives lectures and seminars worldwide.

Dr. Jeff Mayo
DVM, DABVP, MANZCVS

Dr. Robert “Jeff” Mayo was born in Virginia, and moved to Idaho in 1978.

From to 2008 to now, Dr. Mayo has flown and taught internationally in Japan, Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Australia and several other countries. Dr. Mayo has trained hundreds if not over a thousand Veterinarians on laser surgery, radiosurgery, orthopedics and soft tissue surgery as well as regenerative medicine and alternative therapies.

Dr. Mayo has lectured at dozens of national and international veterinary conferences further sharing his knowledge to other veterinarians to better serve the patients and communities.

Dr. Mayo’s peak interests includes knee surgeries, fracture repairs, second opinions, radiosurgery, alternative sterilization and regenerative medicine.

Graduated Veterinary Medicine in 1998 at Leipzig and was research associate / PhD student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig until 1999.

Dr. Pfeil went on to work as Assistant and Senior Physician at a Veterinary Clinic in Dresden until 2008 and then in Jena in 2009.

In 2014, he co-founded and opened his own clinic in Jena.

Prof. Björn Meij

Björn Meij is a Dutch veterinarian, professor and European specialist (Diplomate ECVS) in small animal surgery since 1993.

Today, he is head of surgery at the Utrecht university where he leads a team of specialist surgeons and is ECVS resident coordinator.

Dr. Meij is well-known for his research within orthopaedics and neurosurgery.

Dr. Or is a Board Certified Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgery. He is a graduate of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He did his Small Animal Medicine and Surgery internship at the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a Small Animal surgical Fellowship at Michigan State University. Dr. Or did his Residency in Small Animal Surgery combined with a PhD at Ghent University (2012-2016), and has been the recipient of the ECVS research grant award. Dr. Or was an Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery at Ghent University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (2016-2017) and an Assistant Professor in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Teaching Hospital (2017-2019). 

In 2019, Dr. Or returned to Israel and has since been consulting and practicing small animal surgery for referral practices in Israel. His research and clinical interests are in etiology of orthopedic disease, the evaluation of biomechanical properties of fracture stabilization and developing new methods for evaluation and treatment of fractures and joint pathology, orthopedic trauma, and treatment with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). 

Dr. Or has published numerous peer reviewed publications and abstracts, and spoke at international scientific meetings and several Universities around the world.

Yves Samoy

Yves Samoy graduated in 2003 cum laude at Ghent University, Belgium.
After graduation, he continued to work at Ghent University at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Morphology, Medical Imaging, Orthopaedics, Physiotherapy and Nutrition to improve his orthopedic skills.

From 2006 to June 2012 he was a full time assistant in the Orthopedic
department. During this period, he laid the basis of the physiotherapy and
rehabilitation unit at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. B. Van Ryssen he finished his PhD on Elbow
incongruity in the dog in 2011. Since July 2012 he is Doctoral Assistant in
the Orthopedic department and is involved in all kinds of orthopedic surgery including arthroscopy. He is also the developing surgeon behind the TTA Rapid technique. Since 2015 he is CCRP certified by Ghent University and in charge of the Rehabilitation & Physiotherapy Unit. 

In 2019 he became a diplomate of the European college of veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation.

Yves Samoy is author or co-author of several orthopaedic publications in
international journals.

SWEDEN

Ditte Skytte
DVM, Dipl. ECVS

Read her biography


Ditte Skytte finished her veterinarian studies on 2004 in Denmark and got the certificate CertSAS in 2011. Since 2019 is Dr. Skytte an European specialist (Diplomate ECVS) in
small animal surgery.


Dr. Skytte has previously worked in referral practice in Denmark, as well as at the surgical department of Copenhagen University teaching students. Following 9 years of working at the referral clinic at Strömsholm small animal hospital treating mainly orthopaedic cases and being an ECVS resident supervisor, Dr. Skytte now works at the referral clinic Södra as an orthopaedic specialist.

She has travelled giving lectures at orthopaedic courses in Denmark, Hungary, Italy, USA, and Japan.

Ditte Skytte is author and/or co-author of several orthopaedic publications in international journals.

Elaine Holmes
DVM, DACVS (SA)

Dr. Elaine Holmes is a native of
Michigan and graduated MSU
CVM in 2007. She completed an
internship at Texas A&M and
surgery residency at University of
Pennsylvania. She became a
board certified surgeon in 2012.
She has held positions as a
Department Head, Internship
Director, and Medical Director of
a multi specialty and ER hospital
and has performed over 1,000
TPLOs.


Elaine is heavily involved in the
veterinary community. She is a
part of the AVMA wellbeing
education program. She has been
an invited speaker, locally,
nationally and internationally.


On a personal level, Dr. Holmes is
a mother of two and enjoys
cooking, hiking and travel.
